Our award-winning West Kent Fish & Chat session made a welcome return this week to the peaceful surroundings of Mousehole Lakes. With the sun shining and whips at the ready, ten participants, a mix of returning friends and new faces, joined us for an afternoon of angling, conversation, and connection.

Backed by Strong Community Support

This session was proudly supported by Live Well Kent & Medway and Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council, who continue to champion initiatives that promote mental wellbeing and social inclusion. Their support helps make days like this possible and impactful.

More Than Just Fishing

The group spent three relaxing hours on the banks enjoying the natural calm that angling offers. For many, fishing provides more than just a hobby, it's a chance to pause, reflect, and recharge.

But it doesn’t stop at the water’s edge.

After fishing, the group headed into the Mousehole Café, where hot drinks, sausage rolls, and cheesecake were shared over laughter and open conversation. These café sessions are just as important as the fishing itself. They create a safe and welcoming environment for people to share their stories, build friendships, and form support networks that extend far beyond the day.

Changing Lives Through Angling

Fish & Chat is about more than catching fish—it’s about changing lives through connection, understanding, and the power of nature. Whether you’re an experienced angler or a complete beginner, the sessions are designed to be inclusive, supportive, and most importantly, enjoyable.

As one participant put it:

“It’s not just about fishing, it’s about finding people who get it. The fishing gets us here, but it’s the talking that keeps us coming back.”
